it has been a while since i last updatedmy blog
it has been literally a lifetime ago
my italy + UK adventure is over, my little osaka trip is finished, end of beijing olympics... end of my lifetime holiday. and it's time to face the reality of life...

work...

work officially started on september 1
it's a bit odd to begin a new career on september 1 because seems like i always start my new job on september 1
but this time there is no walking into the staff room and meeting classes of new students
it's walking into my firm and sitting at my desk, going through orientation and trying to remember all the names in the firm
honestly, i'm still trying to suck in everything in the legal field
this is always something that i've wanted and i'm finally there as a solicitor (technically, a trainee solicitor)
it was kinda boring at the beginning and i have to say that it's still very boring
but i'm beginning to see the excitment pass the heaps of legal research and drafting routine correspondences
well, sparks of excitment....
my boss is always trying to teach whenever possible
and all i'm trying to focus on now is to get through these two years of training and see what i want from there

my previous job as a teacher is a lifetime ago...
a different lifetime
and looking back, it wasn't so bad coz i had fun everyday
but well... time to try something different

see you in court..hahaha

as i've nothing constructive to do lately, been watching tvb's 'Chung Sheung Wan Siu' every night
i've watched this drama about 5 years ago... or 4? don't quite remember
the only reason i'm watching it at night is because some of the scenes were shot in italy
well, italy is beautiful
and i guess the producer was trying to capture the 'best' of italy in his little drama
but the more i watch, the more i want to 'spit blood'

TVB CRIME: confusion of geography

ridiculous scene one
the flight was from hk to ROME
belle and sam had lunch in FLORENCE
then walked to the trevi fountain in ROME after dinner!!!!
goshhhhh... it takes at least 3 hours to get to FLORENCE from ROME

ridiculous scene two
sam was wandering around the spanish steps in ROME alone
zoe found him on the spanish steps in ROME
then after lunch/dinner
they and issac went to FLORENCE to meet up some friends

VERDICT: tvb thinks ALL audience are morans

been back from my trip for a bit more than a week already
my suitcase is packed away
and things have been cleared
months of planning and preparation, endless hours on reading about the italian culture and four hours of self-crampped italian all paid off
it was a wonderful trip, an eye-opening trip, a memorable trip and also a character-building trip
the delicious italian cuisine, the welcoming italians and the beautiful scenery will always stay with me
i hope to go back to Rome some day
all the photos have been uploaded on facebook and i'll try to post some on xanag
just too lazy to do anything constructive despite i have nothing constructive to do at the moment
work won't commence till september 1 so i'm still in my summer holiday

well, so my mission for the rest of my holiday is to do some writing... hee hee

an update on my laptop status:

it can be saved!!!!!!!!!!!!!
stuff on my C drive could be backed up at a small cost which i'm MORE than willing to pay
and my computer could be repaired at a SLIGHTLY higher cost which i'm still deciding
afterall, it's about time to get a new laptop
